• Inspired by the oil can delays of the 60s and our previous granular explorations, Curtis™ and Spunk™, Soup introduces a virtual magnetic fluid that allows users to record onto, manipulate, and playback sounds. It can be utilized as a distinctive delay effect or as a granular synthesizer, enabling the creation of entirely new audio textures.
• Quantum Sound: Soup disassembles recordings into individual sound quanta, which can be manipulated as if forming an audio fluid. These segments can be played consecutively, randomly, forwards, backwards, or in other orientations. Mixing sounds together takes on a new dimension with this innovative approach.
• Sounds Touching: Beyond being a visually engaging audio tool, Soup offers a tactile experience with support for multi-touch. Users can interact with the virtual fluid in ways impractical with traditional knobs and faders.
• Audio Palette: Soup empowers users to paint with sound by recording external audio via microphone or importing WAV files to blend sound with the virtual fluid. Fingers serve as playheads, capable of reading sounds from various positions simultaneously.
